James 2:1-13- The Pride of Prejudice
    Series: James
Guest Pastor Scott Farmer shows us how humans seem to tend toward partiality. There are preferences that some of us hold with regard to race, gender or economic status. James suggests there is no room for this attitude in those who possess an active faith. How does this apply today with regard to all of the division that exists in our society? When every disagreement is described as discrimination, how are Christians to address different issues?

    James 1:1-11
    Series: James
Pastor Derek begins a new series in the book of James. This book is heralded as one of both theology and practicality. Though this is one of the earliest pieces of the New Testament, James seems to have been written for the modern age. Do you believe what has been revealed about Jesus? In the beginning, James, the earthly brother of the Savior, didn't. He has strong words for that kind of doubt. Do you doubt who Jesus is? How can you have the kind of genuine faith that the brother of Jesus found?

Do we make the mistake of believing that we are somehow more worthy of His grace than others are? Is that grace? Do we actually desire judgement on our enemies? Do we forget we were once enemies of God ourselves?

We need to remember as the church, as the heralds of God's Kingdom among His enemies, that spreading the Word of the Gospel actually has the power to change whole societies.
