Kingdom Kids, a Rabbi, and a Ruler
Series: MARK
In today's message, Pastor Stephen shares a message about children coming to Jesus, the disciples attempts to turn them away, and Jesus rebuking them for such actions.  Jesus laid out that the kingdom of God belongs to those who are like a child.  Ever wonder what that verse really means?  HINT:  It's not because they're innocent.  They're not innocent.  Jesus goes on to teach an invaluable truth to his disciples as the story takes a turn to a man who valued his goods more than his God and went away full of sorrow when he learned what would be required of him to follow Jesus.  Listen and learn how these stories are connected, how Christianity is not a religion of "do" but rather a religion of "done", and what we must "do" to become like children who will inherit our Father's Kingdom and infinite riches.

    Why Divorce is so Devastating
    Series: MARK
With a subject as emotional and delicate as divorce and remarriage, Pastor Stephen teaches what God's Word has to say on the matter in a Spirit of Grace and Truth.   The Pharisees knew that divorce was a troubling topic, and they used this matter to pose a question to try to trip-up Jesus--or at the very least--to try to put Jesus' followers at odds with him.   Listen to today's message and unpack what was taking place in culture with respect to marriage in the First Century and how that compares with marriage and divorce today.  Listen to understand why Divorce is so Devastating and why God allowed Moses to institute divorce laws; even as Jesus spoke on this matter in his teachings, as well.

    Intentional Interactions
As we gathered for Father's Day this morning, Pastor Stephen shared a message on what dads are to do and not do when raising their children.  In his letter to the church in Ephesus, Paul outlined the expectations of a relationship between a husband and a wife in chapter five before turning his attention from marriage to the baby carriage as he painted a bullseye on the backs of disciplemaking dads.  Listen to today's message as we unpack a word of caution and look at the commands issued to disciplemaking dads who are to bring their children up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

    The Seriousness of Sin
    Series: MARK
We've all heard the expression "Cut it out!" when we're behaving badly.  Did you know this phrase has it's roots in Scripture?  How about the phrase, "To Hell with it..." which was Jesus' point if we don't cut out those things in our lives which are causing us to sin...we will go to hell with it!  And then there's the phrase, "You're not going to worm your way out of trouble this time!"  Did you know that you were assigned a worm that gnaws away at you when in hell--the place where the flames are never quenched?  Listen to this week's message and be reminded about the Seriousness of Sin and the ghastly image of Gehenna.  Repent and trust in Jesus.  Stay salty!!!

    Power Above, Problems Below
    Series: MARK
Have you ever felt like you were just going through the motions?  When you've experienced failure...did it make you better or bitter?  In times of doubt, do you feel like you're down and out?  Listen to today's message to learn the lesson of losing that our Lord lovingly allowed his disciples to experience to remind them to deepen their dependence on Him.  They were to increase their power through prayer...as Jesus would heal a demon possessed boy and increase the faith of a father who brought his boy to Jesus to be set free.  Life is full of mountaintop experiences and valley lows; and in Christ alone we will overcome.

    A Glimpse of Glory
    Series: MARK
In life, we all experience moments we can never forget--whether that's a birth of a child, a loss of a loved one, or a major event in the life of our country.  We likely remember exactly where we were and what we were doing when we first experienced it.  The same was true for Peter, James, and John when they witnessed the transfiguration of Jesus.  These three men had a mountain-top experience where they were given a glimpse of glory that would keep them going as they followed Jesus to Jerusalem where he would fulfill the law and the words of the prophets through his exodus.

Listen to today's message and see how Jesus serves as the bridge between the Old Testament and the New Testament--and as he serves as the bridge between a sinful people and a Holy God.

    Supermodel Moms
    Series: MARK
While the church often celebrates marriage and raising a child in a home where both the mother and father are present to mentor their children, today's sermon celebrates all of those single mothers and grandmothers who pour their lives into the lives of their children and grandchildren as they serve as super models of their Savior.  While all godly mothers and grandmothers should be celebrated, Paul writes to commend and encourage Timothy as he references his Grandmother Lois and his Mother Eunice where the faith first dwelt.

    A Costly Calling
    Series: MARK
Dietrich Bonhoeffer once said, "Salvation is free, but discipleship will cost you your life."  JC Ryle coined the adage, "A religion that costs you nothing...is worth nothing."  These men echoed the challenge Jesus gave to his disciples and the crowd who dared to follow him.  Jesus told them that they must have the desire to respond to the call, deny themselves, die to self, and be devoted to follow him.  Desire, denial, death, and devotion are the daily steps we must take in honoring God and truly living for him in this world.  We must die to self daily by taking up our cross to live for him.  We are justified by faith alone in his good work at Calvary, and we should in turn do good works as we are being sanctified into his likeness as we draw closer to him through love and willful obedience.

    Right, Wrong, Moving Along
    Series: MARK
Have you ever went from a mountaintop experience to immediately walking in the valley?  We're talking that everything seemed to be going your way, and then suddenly, it seemed like you couldn't say or do anything right?  Peter experienced this when he declared that "Jesus was the Christ" in the middle of one of the darkest, pagan laden pieces of lands in all Israel.  Against the backdrop of the temple Philip erected for Caesar, the cliff carvings for the Greek's worship of Pan, and the idols dedicated to Baal, Jesus was declared LORD of all.  And upon hearing the news that Jesus would set-off on a death march to Jerusalem, Peter wouldn't stand for it--and he rebuked Jesus--before Jesus told Peter, "Get behind me, Satan!"  Listen to today's message and learn the details behind this story as we try not to make the same mistakes Peter made by calling Jesus LORD, and then telling him what kind of LORD he should be!

    Third Day Story
    Series: Easter
What do you do the day after your hopes and dreams die?  This was the question the disciples were struggling with that fateful Saturday morning after Jesus had been crucified the night before.  On the "Fridays" of our lives, trouble comes and it seems to catch us off-guard; then Saturday comes and now what?  What are we to do in the "Saturdays" of our lives, and how might what the Bible shows repeatedly throughout the Old Testament and the New Testament give us hope...that "Sundays" coming?  Listen to today's Easter Charge and celebrate the fact that as believers in Christ, we know that Sunday is coming for us!
