    A Sinful Situation
    Series: MARK
Why do we put ourselves in sinful situations where nothing good can come from it?  In today's message, Pastor Stephen shares how unforgiveness and nursing a grudge can only lead us deeper in sin...which eventually leads to death.  In addition, when we pursue the passions of our flesh and let pride rule in our lives, we will end up more than sorry.  Listen to today's story about King Herod, his wicked wife Herodias, and the beheading of John the Baptist as it relates to Herod trying to figure out who Jesus was.

    Sent by Our Savior
    Series: MARK
In today's sermon, Pastor Stephen reminds us that we (like the twelve) have also been sent by our Savior to preach the message of repentance to those around us.  We too are called to leave our baggage behind, move swiftly, and carry this message from town to town.  By calling the twelve to start in Israel, we're reminded that the best start to our own ministries begins at home.

    A Power Outage at Home
    Series: MARK
Many of us are guilty of forming opinions of someone based on what we've seen, and though time has passed, we've never really let the person get passed their past?  In this world, of all people, Christ followers should believe that people can be made new.  The Bible is full of examples of people who had a chance for a new beginning.  As we start this New Year, let us see others for who they are now in Christ Jesus, as they've been made into new creations.  In today's teaching, Pastor Stephen talks about how Jesus was rejected in his hometown by those who thought they knew his past--but their lack of faith and refusal to see Jesus through eyes of faith left them marveling at his teaching and miracles...but offended at his claims to be the Christ.  And because they did not believe, Jesus could do no great works there.  In today's text, we see Jesus teaching his disciples a painful lesson that the toughest place to do ministry is often in our homes.  Listen to today's message and commit to honor Jesus in your community, amongst your relatives, and in your own homes in 2017.

The Real Christmas Story of Maggis, a Massacre, and a Messiah on the Move
To many, Christmas evokes emotions of happiness and joy; while others spend the holidays in a world of deep darkness, uncertainty, and suffering.  These same emotions have existed since the inception of the birth of Christ and many are still struggling to see the joy that comes only through the Son.  Listen to today's message on The Real Christmas Story of Maggis, a Massacre, and a Messiah on the Move.  "Out of Egypt God called His Son" to save a world that was filled with darkness.  Christmas is the time we celebrate that God came down to bring light and life to those who are helpless and hurting.  We needed a Savior, and at Christmas, we're reminded...that God gave us one.

A Woman with a Bleed and A Little Girl’s Need
    Series: MARK
For one helpless, nameless woman, in the crowd...she had experienced twelve long, lonely years of suffering; and for the other, her twelve years of living as her daddy's only daughter were drawing to a close.  Both the woman with the bleed and the father who came to express his little girl's need--came to Jesus in faith.  Listen to today's message to see Jesus continuing to display His Lordship over the deep, over demons, and over disease and death--as He gives hope, healing, and life itself to those who come to him in faith.  Whether man, woman, or child, Jesus came to bear our infirmities and diseases in order to deliver us from our sins, sickness, and shame--so that we might be made well.

    Chain Breaker and Difference Maker
    Series: MARK
If you've ever felt like your struggles would never end; if you've ever felt like all hope was gone and you lack purpose in life--run to Jesus.  The One who calms the raging sea can calm the storm that is raging within you.  Listen to today's message as Pastor Stephen teaches about Jesus setting this captive free from the demons that oppressed him.  The Legion was no match for the authority and power of the God-Man who traversed the raging sea to destroy the works of the devil.  As his disciples struggled to figure out just who Jesus was, the demons rightly revealed his true identity as "Jesus, Son of the Most High God."  Once you encounter the Christ and come to Him in faith, He will be your Chain Breaker and Difference Maker as He sets you free and puts you on a mission to share his message of mercy about the great things He has done for you.

    A Rude Awakening
    Series: MARK

If you've ever found yourself in the middle of a raging storm in your life, never forget that Jesus is right there with you fulfilling his promise that he will never leave you nor forsake you. In the story of Jesus sailing with his disciples to the Gerasenes, a mighty tempest tossed these seasoned sailors about the boat, as their faith was displaced by fear and they lashed out at our sleeping Savior who was resting peacefully in the stern.

They gave Jesus a rude awakening even as he was demonstrating a deep and abiding faith in the protecting hand of his Father--as his disciples' faith was tested in troubled waters. When they cried out for Jesus to save them, Jesus released words of peace to still the storm and leave these men questioning: "Who is this man that even the wind and the sea obey?"

This is the question that we must get right if we are to "go across with him to the other side" as verse 35 proclaims. Who is Jesus to you? Put your faith in Him, and trust in Christ alone to deliver you from the storms of this world. This passage also puts the humanity and deity of Jesus on full display for all the world to see.
