What Can I Expect? FAQ’s

At RiverWind, we understand that visiting a new church can be intimidating. We want to make sure you feel welcome, comfortable, and loved when you come visit us. Here’s a few answers to some frequently-asked questions.

1. Who are We?

We are a church that loves Jesus, loves people, and loves our community. We are passionate about helping people become fully devoted followers of Christ. Our passion is to build a community of people where everyone can know the amazing power of connecting with God, each other, and with their community. We are a church who BELIEVES. We are a church who desires to GROW. We are a church who SERVES. We are a church where you can BELONG. We are a church that will show Christ’s LOVE to the world around us.

2. When and Where?

We meet Sunday mornings at 9:30am at our facility located at 6288 Vann Rd in Newburgh, Indiana for a time of contemporary worship and dynamic biblical teaching.  Following our worship service, we offer classes starting at 10:45am for children through adults so they may continue growing in their knowledge of the Word and in their relationships with one another.

3. Is There a Dress Code?

The dress code is casual. There’s no need to come in a suit, tuxedo, or anything too fancy. Just come as you are!  Jeans and a t-shirt work fine; however, most people feel comfortable in a button-front shirt, polo shirt, or khaki pants.  What you wear isn’t as important as where you are!  We want you to worship our glorious Savior with us.

4. What Should I Expect on My First Visit to RWC?

From the moment you first arrive, it’s our goal to make you feel at home. One of our greeters will meet you at the door with a smile and will be ready to answer any questions you might have and take the time to show you around and help you get situated. They can also help you get your kids checked-in or guide you into the worship service.  We’re not here to pressure you, we’re here to help you feel right at home worshiping with our growing church family.  It is our goal that you will leave her saying, “This is where we belong!”

5. Speaking of Kids, What is Available for My Kids?

We were hoping you would ask! We have a safe and fun environment for kids of all ages. Our preschool and children’s church services are tailored for children from 6 months old to 5th grade. All children in grades K-4 begin worship with their parents in our 9:30 worship hour to share in a time of worship through song before being dismissed into an age appropriate teaching.

Additionally, all volunteers who work with our children must submit to background checks and be members in good standing of RWC for a number of months. Security cameras and a digital notification system are also utilized to provide added peace of mind.

6. What is the Worship Experience Like?

Our worship is meaningful, creative, and spiritually engaging. Each experience kicks off with a warm welcome, a time of live worship music – which is a blend of live, energetic praise music and an occasional traditional hymn that has our church family and guests standing. At RiverWind, we feel blessed to have such an amazing worship team – we hope you will agree.  Then, our Pastor will share a gospel-centered message aimed at challenging and empowering you to apply Jesus’ words to your daily life. We end our teaching time with a few minutes of prayer… nothing awkward, we promise. Then we wrap up the experience by giving an opportunity to give back to God before closing with a few announcements.

7. What Do I Do When I First Arrive This Weekend?

If you decide to visit us this weekend, please make sure to let one of the greeters wearing RWC name tags know that it is your first time with us. We’d love to help you and your family get situated, and our Pastors would love the opportunity to shake your hand and personally introduce themselves and welcome you to RiverWind.
